Heavy snows in Denver have our Holiday Cheer on overdrive! There are so many fun, new events to celebrate the season you won't be able to do them all! Here are our picks for Denver's Best Holiday Events.
Where: Denver Zoo
When: November 29-December 30th
With more than two million lights sparkling over 80 acres, Zoo Lights is the perfect way to make special holiday memories in Denver’s most beloved community gathering place. Where: Denver Botanic Gardens
When: November 29-January 3
The Gardens’ signature event for over three decades, this annual holiday lights extravaganza transforms the York Street location into a twinkling winter wonderland. With fresh and exciting new features including a 360-degree immersive light experience, along with some fan favorites, this year’s display is brighter and more expansive than ever before. An iconic holiday tradition returns! Join Denver Union Station for the ceremonious lighting of the building and our 40 foot-tall Plaza Christmas tree. Featuring a vintage holiday performance by the Denver Dolls, holiday jingles by the Denver Bronze, live coverage by Denver7, and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus! 9News Parade of Lights FREE!!
Where: Downtown Denver
When: December 6th @ 8pm & 7th @ 6pm
The two-mile parade route in Downtown Denver is the stage for Colorado’s brightest holiday tradition. The FREE holiday spectacular features marching bands, ornate floats, and, of course, a special appearance by Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa! Where: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
When: December 6-January 3
Celebrate holiday lights and cheer during Electric Safari with 85 light sculptures on over 50 acres! Warming fires throughout the Zoo offer a reprieve from the chill, as do select indoor animal exhibits that remain open during the event. Santa's North Pole Adventure

Not for the faint of festivity, this over-the-top indoor immersive installation turns the holiday spirit all the way up with mesmerizing displays of decorations that shift time and reality. Camp Christmas is Denver’s newest holiday experience, where yuletide traditions of the past and present get merrily mashed together in a massive 10,000-square-foot wonderland. The Grinch broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its holiday engagements at the St. James and Hilton theatres in New York. Since then, more than 2.1 million theatre-goers across America have been delighted by this heart-warming holiday musical, which The New York Times praised as “100 times better than any bedtime story” and the Gannett papers hailed as “A genius of a show! Christmas-heads, prepare yourselves for the coming of no less than nine holiday-themed bars this season around Denver — and another in Colorado Springs, just in case you find the local options lacking.

Denver Christkindl Market transforms Skyline Park into a magical “old world” European Christmas village, with wooden vendor huts, twinkling lights, festival music, and an authentic German Bier Hall.

Santa and his friends transform Chatfield Farms into a magical village! Hop on the hayride to catch a short movie at Santa’s Cinema or walk under the magical light displays. Stop at Elf Boulevard to drop off your letters to Santa. Let the kids play in a real elf house and see the elves hard at work. Enter a giant snow globe. (picture courtesy botanicgardens.org)
Mile High Tree - FREE!!
Where: Denver Performing arts Complex Sculpture Park
When: Select Dates Through January 31st
Create a new family tradition and join in the free nightly festivities at Denver’s newest holiday attraction, including a dazzling lights and music show every 30 minutes throughout the evening. At 39-feet in diameter, the conical structure can host up to 140 guests at a time for an immersive viewing experience within the tree itself. The tree will be surrounded by dazzling, oversized holiday ornaments. The Mile High Tree is the largest installation of its kind in North America. The tree was created by ILMEX Illumination, a globally renowned decorative lighting production company in Spain. Madrid-based Brut Deluxe handled the lighting design using pixel-mapping technology.
